ENCO Systems Introduces New Automation Interface
|
March 2009 |
Southfield, Michigan, March 18, 2009: ENCO Systems Inc., a leading worldwide provider of Digital Audio Delivery Systems, announced that they will introduce a new radio automation product called Presenter in April at NAB2009 in Las Vegas.
Following an intense design and development schedule targeted at significant user interface improvements, Presenter delivers a cohesive set of attractive user oriented “tools” perfect for live assist operations while sacrificing nothing in reliability and system power. Presenter, like its predecessor DAD, supports all forms of audio technologies including IP audio, traditional sound cards, audio router control, console interfaces, and general purpose I/O, touch screens, etc.
Eugene Novacek, President of ENCO Systems said, “ENCO’s DAD has long had a reputation of being a highly engineered product with an unparalleled amount of power and flexibility for radio operations of all sizes. We decided to take what we’ve learned from years of delivering world class automation and bring it to a new level of user friendliness and attractiveness - engaging the user like never before. We believe that Presenter is a unique combination of the best looking automation interface with the most powerful engine anywhere.”
“Presenter is designed to be used…easily”, said Don Backus, ENCO Systems VP of Sales & Marketing. “We wanted more than just big buttons and bright colors, we wanted to deliver substance behind the style, and that is where Presenter excels. Even in these challenging economic times, we anticipate significant migration away from less powerful and less reliable systems to Presenter. We believe so strongly in Presenter that in a market where other manufacturers are reducing their presence at NAB 2009, we’ve actually increased our exhibition space by 25%, to make sure that attendees see what we’ve done and can learn how Presenter can benefit their stations.”
The Presenter single screen interface features a panel design with many user selectable tools including voice tracking, hot buttons, recording, database, search and more. Other features include cut, paste and block move of playlists elements, user tabs, backsell log and a number of new and refined user friendly tools designed for live assist and voice tracked operations. Presenter will be on display at NAB 2009 in Las Vegas, NV , April 20-23 in Booth N-7607 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

New features in Stirlitz Media Player
|
March 2009 |
The Stirlitz Media Logger – Player (client application) uses a single TCP/IP socket to access the server. Using streamed audio, it can access the archives within a second from any place in the world. Using the unique Timeline based user interface, users never see files, they just scroll through time, or jump from event to event (such as 'mike-open' or 'commercials'), making Stirlitz Media Logger the ideal application for fast air-checks.
Question: I am using Macs or Linux based PCs, can I still use Stirlitz Media Player?
Answer: YES, besides the regular Stirlitz Media Logger - Player, we now also have the Stirlitz Media Logger - Java Player that runs from within any modern web browser, or under Windows, OS X and Linux!
Question: Does Stirliz Media Player has the ability to show “volume” of the logged audio?
Answer: YES, visualizing volume in the Timeline sometimes is painful... Now the Stirlitz Media Logger – Player also displays volume in the Timeline... and mistakes or system hick-ups become even more embarrassing... J

The new Edirol R-44 Four Channel Portable Recorder
|
January 2009 |
The Edirol R-44 is designed for professional use within a very conveniently
sized package. Capture up to four channels of uncompressed audio with selectable
bit depths at 16-bit or 24-bit, and sampling frequencies of up to 96kHz.
R-44 employs SD cards or large capacity SDHC cards as the recording media.
No moving parts enables the most silent and reliable operation possible.
Built-in high quality
microphones and speakers make recording and monitoring without external
devices possible. The on-board limiter helps suppress sudden peaks in sound
from an input source. A low-cut filter is included to help prevent things
like wind noise or microphone handling noise. Studio class effects such as
3-Band EQ, 6-Band GEQ, Enhancer or DeEsser can be used as tools to greatly
improve audio quality. Effects can be applied while recording or simply for
monitoring/playback.
The Pre-Record
function buffers input signals for a certain amount of time ensures you
never miss that important moment again. When the REC button is pressed, the
material from the previous few seconds (selectable) is included. This also
helps reduce sound bites at the beginning of a recording by not having to
start the recorder too early. The combo input jacks (4) supports the
connection of both XLR and 1/4 inch plugs. XLR inputs are equipped with
phantom power.
The Control Sync
terminal enables synchronized operation of 2 units. Control the second unit
from the master by simply connecting two with a stereo mini cable. The
master unit can remotely control REC standby, REC start and REC stop of the
slave unit. This function enables 8-channel recording in a compact space
and at an affordable price. The R-44 can be operated with 3 types of power
supply, AC adaptor, external battery and AA batteries.
